ConnieFlower Shortlisted for an Award!

I have some exciting news to share...

I'm absolutely delighted to announce that ConnieFlower has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Creative Arts Award category at the UK Small Business Awards!

When I received the news, I honestly had to read the email twice ha! To be recognised alongside so many talented small businesses from across the UK is an incredible honour, and I'm still smiling every time I think about it. Yayyy!

For those who may be new here, I discovered pyrography, the art of woodburning, around six years ago. What began as a way to support my mental health quickly became a passion, and eventually grew into the business I have today.

Over the years, ConnieFlower has evolved from creating handmade gifts and artwork into something much bigger. While I still love designing and making my own pieces, one of the most rewarding parts of my work is teaching others. Through workshops across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, and at craft shows around the country, I've had the privilege of introducing hundreds of people to this wonderfully mindful and therapeutic craft.

That's why this recognition feels particularly special.

Running a small creative business can be challenging at times. Like many makers, there are moments of self-doubt, long days, and plenty of juggling behind the scenes. To have my work recognised on a national stage is not only exciting, but also a huge confidence boost. It's a reminder that it's worth believing in yourself, taking chances, and continuing to do what you love.

I am genuinely over the moon to be shortlisted and incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported ConnieFlower along the way. Whether you've attended a workshop, purchased one of my creations, visited me at a craft fair, followed my journey online, or simply cheered me on, thank you. Your support means more than you know.

The UK Small Business Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 19th December 2026 at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham, where finalists from across the UK will gather as the National Top 10 winners are announced.

Whatever happens on the night, being named a finalist already feels like a huge achievement, and I'm proud to represent both the creative industry and our wonderful pyro community.

Diolch/Thank you for being part of this journey. I'll be sure to keep you updated as the awards approach!

Much love and warm hugs,

Want to learn pyrography?

If you've ever been curious about woodburning and would like to give it a try, keep an eye on my workshops and upcoming events. I'd love to welcome you along and share this mindful craft with you.
