A Beautifully Warm Day at Renishaw Hall & Gardens
Yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of exhibiting my pyrography artwork at the Renishaw Hall & Gardens Artisan Food & Craft Fair — and what a lovely day it turned out to be.
Tucked away on the Derbyshire border, Renishaw Hall & Gardens is one of those places that instantly feels peaceful the moment you arrive. The historic hall, colourful gardens, and relaxed atmosphere created the perfect backdrop for a day celebrating handmade art, local makers, and creativity.

Sunshine, Creativity & Community
After what feels like endless unpredictable weather recently, we were incredibly lucky to have such a beautifully warm and sunny day. Visitors wandered through the gardens with iced coffees in hand, a gentle breeze drifted through the air, and there was such a welcoming atmosphere throughout the fair.
As a pyrography artist inspired heavily by nature, events like this always feel especially meaningful. Being surrounded by flowers, greenery, and fellow creatives is incredibly inspiring, and it reminds me why I fell in love with wood burning art in the first place.

Sharing the Stories Behind the Artwork
One of my favourite parts of attending craft fairs isn’t simply displaying my work, it’s the conversations that happen throughout the day.
I loved chatting with visitors about the pyrography process, explaining how each piece is carefully hand-burned onto wood, and hearing which designs people connected with most. It’s always wonderful seeing someone pause at the stall, take a closer look, and genuinely appreciate the time and detail that goes into handmade artwork.
It’s always really special meeting people face-to-face and being able to share the stories and inspiration behind each piece.

Supporting Independent Artists & Makers
Events like the Renishaw Hall Artisan Food & Craft Fair are such an important reminder of the value of supporting small businesses, local artists, and independent makers. Every stall was filled with so much talent, creativity, and passion, from delicious artisan food to beautifully handcrafted products.
It’s always encouraging to be part of an event where people truly appreciate handmade work and take the time to connect with the artists behind it.

A special shoutout to my stallholder neighbours, Ian (Renishaw Hall), Damion (Ethos Upcycling) and Sarah (Molly Felicity Designs), who were great company throughout the day and had me laughing when I started sanding a few pieces of wood towards the end of the fair… they thought I was filing my nails with a huge sanding block! And thank you to Arden Coffee for the most delightful hot chocolate. Who knew hot chocolate tastes just as good in a heatwave as it does in the middle of winter!?
A Lovely Day to Remember
I’m so grateful to everyone who stopped by my stall for a chat, supported my small business, or simply took the time to look through my art and creations. Your kindness, encouragement, and enthusiasm genuinely mean so much.
It was also wonderful seeing so many familiar faces throughout the day — at one point it honestly felt like an old work reunion! A special thank you as well to my friends Mandy & Phil, who surprised me with the most delicious cake from Muffin Tops. It was such a treat scoffing that when I got home after a long day!

A huge thank you as well to Carrie-Anne and the team at Renishaw Hall for creating such a welcoming event in such a beautiful setting.
Days like this leave me feeling incredibly inspired and grateful to continue sharing my pyrography journey.
I’m very excited to say that I’ll be back at Renishaw Hall’s next craft market in August, and I already can’t wait to return to such a beautiful venue and welcoming atmosphere. If you'd like to come along, tickets can be purchased in advance here.
If you’d like to see where I’ll be exhibiting next, keep an eye on my upcoming fairs, or join me on a workshop — I’d love to see you soon!
