A Weekend of Art, Nature & Connection
This past weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of exhibiting my pyrography artwork at the Festival of Blossom, held at the beautiful Clumber Park, a National Trust site and one of the most popular places to visit in Nottinghamshire. As a Nottinghamshire-based pyrography artist, it was a joy to showcase my handmade wood burning art at such a well-loved local event, surrounded by nature, creativity, and a real sense of community.

Being in Nature at Clumber Park
There’s something truly special about exhibiting at a National Trust site like Clumber Park, especially when you’re sharing handmade art inspired by nature. Surrounded by blossom-filled trees, fresh spring air, and visitors enjoying one of the most scenic spots in Nottinghamshire, it felt like the perfect setting for a pyrography artist. That said… the weather certainly kept things interesting!
A Very British Weekend of Weather
On the first day, I was unexpectedly basking in sunshine, so much so that I managed to catch the sun (and yes, I hadn’t packed any sun cream… lesson learned!). By day two, it was a completely different story. The temperature dropped, the rain set in, and I found myself wrapped in five layers, doing my best to stay warm and dry. A true British outdoor event experience!
But despite the unpredictable weather, exhibiting at a Nottinghamshire event like this meant so much more.
Finding My Way Back to Selling Art
It’s actually been a few years since I last had a stall selling my own handmade artwork. After a difficult experience in the past, my confidence took a real knock, and for a while, I stepped away from selling my art in person. Coming back to it hasn’t been about perfection or pressure, it’s been about growth, and slowly rebuilding that belief in myself as an artist.

More Than Just Sales
This weekend wasn’t about making huge sales or chasing big numbers. My goal was much simpler, and far more meaningful: to connect with people who appreciate art and creativity.
To have conversations.
To share my love of pyrography (wood burning art).
To tell the stories behind my handmade pieces.
And most importantly, to bring a smile to someone’s face.
Inspiring Creativity Through Pyrography
There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing someone pause at your stall, take interest in your work, and genuinely connect with it. If even one person walked away feeling inspired to try something creative, then that, to me, is a success.

Why Events Like This Matter
Events like the Festival of Blossom at Clumber Park are a wonderful reminder of how local art, nature, and community come together. Moments like these bring me back to why I started creating pyrography art in the first place.
I’m so grateful to everyone who stopped by, had a chat, or supported my small art business — you made the whole experience worthwhile. A heartfelt thank you to Darcy, Laura, the team at Clumber Park, and the National Trust volunteers for being so welcoming and supportive throughout the weekend.
A special thank you to Jack for helping me secure shelter during the rainy day - it made all the difference! And to my fellow neighbouring exhibitors, thank you for the chats, laughs, and encouragement (the quick game of Crystal Maze after that sudden gust of wind really brought us all together!).
It also meant so much to see familiar faces — special thank you goes to Helene and Hannah for surprising me with smiles, hugs and much-needed tea and treats!

Explore My Work & Upcoming Workshops
If you’d like to explore more of my pyrography artwork, you can visit me at an upcoming Craft Fair, where I share my latest handmade pieces inspired by nature. I also take on a small number of bespoke commissions, so if you’re looking for a unique, personalised piece of art, I’d love to hear from you. And if you’d like to keep up with future events, new collections, and behind-the-scenes updates, you’re always welcome to join my mailing list.
Here’s to continuing to grow, to keep showing up, and to believing (bit by bit!) in the journey.
